PhD Students at Shaping 9: Advancing Ceramic Science in Warsaw, Poland
Our PhD students, Maria Waqar and Mahdi Babaei, attended the Shaping 9 Summer School and Conference, jointly organized by the European Ceramic Society and the Warsaw University of Technology, held from September 25th to 27th, 2024, in Warsaw, Poland.
The event featured invited talks, oral presentations, and poster sessions, complemented by a Graphical Abstract Student Contest. Plenary lectures from renowned scientists provided up-to-date insights into key aspects of ceramic shaping.
Prior to the conference, a Summer School titled “How to Shape Ceramic Ideas into Real Products – Laboratory Excellence versus Industrial Needs” was held on September 24th and 25th, 2024, focusing on ceramics processing science. The Summer School aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge, broaden their perspectives on ceramic shaping processes, and offer networking opportunities with experts in related fields.
Maria participated in the Summer School thanks to the JECS TRUST grant she won this year, while Mahdi presented his research at the conference with a lecture on “Single-Phase Rare-Earth High-Entropy Oxides with Low Thermal Conductivities for Advanced Thermal Barrier Coatings.”
