Dr. González Castillo at ALBA synchrotron

After performing successful experiments at BL01-MIRAS beamline at ALBA synchrotron in October 2021, a new project conducted by Dr. Eduin González Castillo has been granted with beam time at this particle accelerator located in Barcelona, Spain.

Moreover, his project has arisen interest not only in the field of materials science, but also in the ALBA scientific activities by exploring the experimental limits of the beamline BL11-NCD-SWEET.

ALBA is a third-generation synchrotron light facility that is committed to the scientific excellence [https://www.cells.es/en], serving over two thousand researchers around the world every year. A 270-meter perimeter storage ring, eight operational state-of-the-art beamlines, and 3 GeV electron beam energy are some of the features related to this large scientific infrastructure that makes possible a profound analysis of matter and its properties.

Dr. Eduin González Castillo is a member of the Spanish Synchrotron User Association (AUSE) and Committee Research with Synchrotron Radiation (Germany), and he has been actively participating in projects associated with the use of synchrotron radiation applied to materials science, including the commissioning that was led by Prof. Gary James Ellis from CSIC Madrid (http://physics.ictp.csic.es/index.html) of the beamline BL01-MIRAS at ALBA synchrotron.
