Student Simona Chmelinová Completes Internship at FunGlass
From July 16 to 29, 2025, the FunGlass research center had the pleasure of hosting Simona Chmelinová, a student from the Department of Experimental Physics at Faculty of Science, Palacký University in Olomouc. Currently specializing in Nanotechnology, Simona joined us as part of a professional experience course aimed at helping students explore career opportunities and establish potential future collaborations.
During her two-week internship, Simona actively participated in daily research activities, gaining valuable hands-on experience and deeper insight into the inner workings of a leading research institution. Her time at FunGlass offered her more than just technical knowledge — it was also a step forward in her personal and professional journey.

“What I valued the most was the opportunity to see the entire research process in practice and to be actively involved in it. I was not just a passive observer, but I could take part in the actual work,” she shared.
She particularly appreciated the welcoming and supportive environment at the center. Her supervisors were always ready to assist, answer questions, and guide her through various laboratory processes. She also had the chance to explore the diverse and modern facilities of the center, which left a strong impression on her.
“This internship represented not only a professional but also a personal step forward for me. I learned a lot about research, teamwork, and made new friends. I am very grateful for this opportunity, and I believe that the experience I gained here will have a positive impact on my future academic and professional development,” Simona concluded.
We are delighted to have contributed to Simona’s growth and are confident that her enthusiasm and dedication will continue to guide her academic and professional journey. The FunGlass team wishes her all the best in her future endeavors and hopes to see her again in future collaborations.
