Shubham Gupta Completed a Research Stay at Tampere University

Shubham Gupta, a PhD student at the FunGlass Centre, successfully completed a three-month research stay at Tampere University in Finland. He was hosted by the Photonics Laboratory’s Photonic Glasses Group under the supervision of Prof. Laeticia Petit.

Supported by the Journal of the European Ceramic Society (JECS) Trust Mobility Program, Shubham focused on developing rare-earth-doped upconversion phosphors and phosphor-in-glass (PiG) composites for applications in white LEDs and optical fibres.

We would like to thank Prof. Laeticia Petit for her scientific guidance, valuable discussions, and support throughout the stay. Our thanks also go to the researchers and technical staff of the Photonic Glasses Group at Tampere University for sharing their expertise, providing technical assistance, and warmly welcoming Shubham to their team.

We also acknowledge Prof. Robert Klement, Shubham’s PhD supervisor at FunGlass, for his continued guidance and support throughout his doctoral research.

The research stay provided Shubham with valuable scientific knowledge and practical experience while further strengthening the collaboration between FunGlass and Tampere University.
