Seminar on 3D Printing for Sustainable Materials at AASTU, Ethiopia
Last week, our PhD student Abel Ourgessa delivered an engaging seminar at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU), Ethiopia. His presentation focused on the fundamentals of 3D printing using the direct ink writing technique for sustainable materials manufacturing, drawing from his ongoing research at the FunGlass Centre and his training at the University of Padova under the guidance of Prof. Enrico Bernardo.
The seminar sparked insightful discussions on the potential of additive manufacturing and future research directions in collaboration with experts from chemical, food process, and environmental engineering fields.
In addition to sharing his research, Abel introduced the FunGlass Centre, highlighting available PhD research topics and opportunities. He provided valuable information about the application and admission processes and engaged with enthusiastic students interested in pursuing graduate studies, offering guidance and exchanging contact information to support future applicants.
We extend our sincere thanks to Abel for preparing and delivering this seminar, to the Department of Chemical Engineering at AASTU for hosting the event, and to all the faculty and students who participated in this enriching academic exchange.
