FunGlass × TIMM Slovakia: Advancing Polymer Innovation

FunGlass – Centre for Functional and Surface-Functionalized Glass announces the establishment of a new professional collaboration with TIMM Slovakia s.r.o., a subsidiary of the Norwegian Wilhelmsen group company. TIMM Slovakia is engaged in the production of ropes for the shipbuilding and fishing industries, with exports reaching markets worldwide.

The joint activities focused on advancing the understanding of selected polymer and fiber-based materials and supporting their further technological development. As part of the cooperation, a comprehensive set of laboratory analyses was carried out, examining the structural, thermal, and surface-related characteristics of the materials.

The application of modern analytical techniques provided deeper insight into material behavior and their response to various types of treatment. The results offer valuable input for future development and reflect the high level of expertise on both sides.

This collaboration represents an important step in strengthening the link between academic research and industrial practice. Both FunGlass and TIMM Slovakia consider the outcomes a solid foundation for future joint activities that may contribute to innovation in the field of polymer materials and surface modification technologies.
