FunGlass PhD Students Participate in BioMAT 2025 Symposium in Weimar, Germany

We are proud to share that our PhD students from the FunGlass Center actively participated in the 8th European Symposium on Biomaterials and Related Areas – BioMAT 2025, organized by the German Society for Materials Science (DGM) and held on May 14–15 in Weimar, Germany.

Mina Abdolmaleki delivered an oral presentation on her recent research titled “Selenium-doped borate bioactive glasses with potential applications in dental implant coatings.” This work was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Martin Michalek and Prof. Aldo Boccaccini, and in consultation with Dr. Germán A. Clavijo Mejía.

Nariman Alipanah also presented findings from his PhD research in a talk entitled “Biocompatibility and antibacterial properties of ZIF-8 and propolis-loaded ZIF-8 particles,” carried out under the supervision of RNDr. Zuzana Neščáková, PhD, and in consultation with Dr. Orhan Sisman.

Both students had the valuable opportunity to present their work, engage with innovative ideas, and participate in stimulating discussions with fellow researchers, students, and professionals from across the biomaterials community.
