FunGlass Hosts Prestigious JECS Trust and ECerS Board Meetings in Trenčín
We are proud to announce that FunGlass had the honor of hosting the JECS Trust meeting on July 15–16 at our premises in Trenčín. The JECS Trust, an organization under the European Ceramic Society (ECerS), manages funds provided by Elsevier, publisher of the Journal of the European Ceramic Society (JECS) and Open Ceramics. These funds support initiatives for young researchers and ECerS members, including mobility programs, event support, and small-scale projects—particularly those promoting participation in non-European events.
During the meeting, the JECS Trust finalized the selection of projects submitted in the spring call. Members also reviewed the current status of journals in the field of ceramic materials science.
The following members of the JECS Trust participated in the meeting:
- Francis Cambier (Chairman, Past President of ECerS)
- Tomas Graule (Current ECerS President)
- Richard Todd (President-Elect)
- Anne Leriche (Secretary General)
- Pavol Šajgalík (Treasurer)
- Jerome Chevalier (Editor, JECS)
- Paolo Colombo (Editor, Open Ceramics)
- Veronique Huart (Administrative Manager, ECerS)
On the following day, July 17, the ECerS board held its meeting with the same representatives, excluding the journal editors. Topics discussed included preparations for the upcoming ECerS Conference in Dresden (August 2025), planning for the 2027 conference in Valencia, evaluation of candidate locations for the 2029 event, and scheduling of future meetings.
The ECerS board expressed its deep gratitude to FunGlass, and especially to Dušan Galusek, director of FG, and his team, not only for the fantastic organization of the meeting, but also for building a European center of excellence in the field of glass and ceramics in Europe.
