FunGlass at yCAM 2026 in Ljubljana

Our PhD student, Sheeraz Khan, attended the Young Ceramists Additive Manufacturing Forum (yCAM) 2026, held from 11–13 May at the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

During the forum, Sheeraz represented FunGlass and presented a poster highlighting his PhD research entitled “3D Printing of AZS Refractories by Direct Ink Writing: Dimensional Accuracy and Corrosion in Molten Glass.” The work focuses on the development and characterization of additively manufactured AZS refractories for applications in the glass industry.

The Young Ceramists Additive Manufacturing Forum (yCAM) is a networking platform and scientific event organized by the European Materials Characterization Council (EMC) and supported by the European Ceramic Society (ECerS) and the JECS Trust. It is dedicated to young researchers and professionals interested in the additive manufacturing of ceramic materials.

The forum provides a unique environment for open discussion and knowledge exchange, combining high-quality scientific presentations with a fresh and informal atmosphere. Its mission is to promote sustainable networking within the additive manufacturing community and to create opportunities for students, early-career researchers, and industry professionals to connect, collaborate, and become active members of the European Ceramic Society.
