FunGlass at the 2nd European Teaming Club Conference: Building a Sustainable Research Network

On the 28th and 29th of September 2009, Peter Hošták (Head of CAU), Jozef Kraxner (Head of Glass Processing Department) and Andrea Chrastinová (Project Manager) had the pleasure to participate in the 2nd European Teaming Club Conference hosted by the InnoRenew Centre of Excellence in Isola, Slovenia.

This informal club brings together all the successful Teaming projects from the Teaming call of the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programmes. At that year’s meeting, the 3rd generation of projects was already received. In total, the representatives of 45 ongoing projects came together at this conference in order to share their experiences and to develop a Teaming network.

Several panels were organised during the conference. They were dedicated to the discussion with advanced partners, who shared their experiences in implementing the project goals with the “widening” institutions, or to the presentations of EU representatives on the sustainability of teaming projects and their role in the European research landscape. Participants looked also for teaming synergies and opportunities for collaboration in parallel sessions divided according to the project focus.

One of the tools for ensuring the sustainability of the Teaming Centers is the Horizon Europe program for research & innovation, specifically the part related to Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area, which includes calls for activities such as Twinning networking, creating Excellence Hubs, attracting ERA Chairs or ERA Talents, among others. It was a pleasure to share FunGlass Centre’s achievements with our partners by presenting our  successful European projects GlaCerHub and CliCAM, which build upon the activities of the FunGlass project and contribute to the sustainability of the FunGlass Centre.
