JECS Trust – mobility grant:

We would like to congratulate Alexandra Nowicka for obtaining a project financed by JECS Trust – mobilty grant on title : “Acid corrosion surface modification of zirconia-based dental materials for enhanced osseointegration”.

The proposed collaboration activity will be dedicated to the study and evaluation of the acid corrosion surface modification of zirconia-based dental materials. The overall idea is to study the effect of different chemical treatments (acid nature and etching conditions) on zirconia-based ceramics used in the dental field.

The host institution will be INSA – Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon, France, which is a leading engineering school with strong humanist values that have formed the basis of its business model for more than 60 years. The project will be led under supervision of Dr. Helen Reveron.

The JECS Trust was set up in December 2007 to oversee the expenditure of funds passed on to the European Ceramic Society by the Society´s Journal and by its publisher ELSEVIER. In its allocation of the Trust’s resources, the Trust Council aims:

  • To enable the European Ceramic Societies to engage in a broad range of activities for the benefit of its membership.
  • To strengthen research and teaching in Europe within the subject of ceramics.
  • To maintain and build on the current strong position of the Journal.

The main focus in the expenditure of Trust money is towards student/young researcher activities.
