Strengthening Scientific Collaboration within the DS FR 24 0014 (GeSeB) Project

As part of the DS FR 24 0014 project (GeSeB – Synthesis, Laser Modification and Surface Phenomena of Chalcogenide, Oxyselenide and Oxide Glasses and Thin Films), Peter Kutálek, PhD, and Jan Smolík, PhD, from the University of Pardubice visited the FunGlass at Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín in Trenčín from February 16 to 20, 2026.

For Jan Smolík, PhD., this marked his second working visit to FunGlass; his first took place in 2020 within the Erasmus project. Since then, our research centre has achieved significant progress, supported by state-of-the-art instrumentation and an expanded team of experienced experts and specialists.

The visit was coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Mária Chromčíková, PhD, leader of the Slovak part of the project. Members of the research team, Ing. T. Sabadková and O. Basak, PhD, also participated in the professional programme. The working agenda focused on fulfilling the main project objectives, including selected experimental measurements using FunGlass instrumentation. The programme also emphasized strengthening cooperation, exchanging expertise, and exploring further opportunities for joint research activities.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our colleagues — D. Galusková, PhD, B. Hruška, PhD, Ing. M. Žitňan, PhD., Ing. K. Mossas, PhD., Mgr. P. Švančárek, PhD., and the Director, Prof. Ing. D. Galusek, DrSc. — for their expert assistance and valuable scientific consultations.
