FunGlass at ESB 2025

We are proud to announce that our colleagues Fatih Kurtuldu, Martin Michálek, and Zuzana Neščáková represented FunGlass at the 34th Annual Conference of the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB 2025), held in Torino, Italy, from 7–11 September 2025.

Each of them had the honor of delivering an oral presentation, highlighting the international recognition of our research within the biomaterials community:

  • Fatih KurtulduBiomaterials for Ionic Medicine (also co-chaired a session with Prof. Aldo Boccaccini)

  • Martin MichálekAdditive Manufacturing of Biomaterials and Composite Materials

  • Zuzana NeščákováRegenerating Teeth: Biomaterials for Dental Restoration and Oral Microflora Modulation

Our team from Dpt. of Biomaterials with Prof. Aldo Boccaccini

The conference motto, “Biomaterials on the Horizon,” reflects the rapid progress in developing multifunctional materials and pioneering technologies that are shaping the future of healthcare—enabling new devices, therapies, and preventive solutions.

In this spirit, ESB 2025 provided a vibrant environment for discussing both traditional research topics—such as clinical translation, regenerative medicine, in vitro models, drug delivery, and antibacterial treatments—as well as emerging themes like biomaterials-assisted gene and cell therapy, AI in biomaterial research, and ethical and regulatory challenges.

We congratulate our colleagues on their outstanding contributions and are delighted to see FunGlass research represented on this prestigious international stage.
