Dr. Patil’s Research Visit to Friedrich Schiller University, Jena

At the end of July, Dr. Deepak Patil (VILA Dpt.) visited Prof. Delia Brauer’s Bioactive Glasses Group at the Faculty of Chemistry and Earth Science, Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, Germany, through the Erasmus+ exchange program.

According to Dr. Patil, the short-term visit was highly productive in terms of research outcomes. He conducted a study on the sintering behaviour of bioactive glasses using hot-stage microscopy. In line with the goals of the Erasmus+ program, he also took part in cultural exchange activities and visited several notable cities, including Berlin, Leipzig, Weimar, and Dresden.

Reflecting on his experience, Dr. Patil shared:

“I was quite satisfied with the visit, having completed the planned research activities and explored the beautiful regions of eastern Germany. I truly appreciate the financial support provided by the Erasmus+ program, and I am especially grateful to FunGlass and Prof. Galusek for enabling my participation. My sincere thanks also go to Prof. Brauer for hosting my research on such short notice.”
