Welcome Dr. Harshit Tripathi to the FunGlass Team
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Harshit Tripathi as a new researcher at the VILA department of FunGlass.
Dr. Tripathi earned his Ph.D. in October 2024 from Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, India. His doctoral research, titled “Synthesis of Yttria-based Ceramic Powders Doped with Rare Earth Elements and their Sintering for Opto-Electrical Properties,” focused on developing highly transparent yttria ceramics. Through the strategic use of sintering additives and rare earth dopants, he advanced both solid-state and wet chemical synthesis methods to tailor particle characteristics. These powders were densified using innovative sintering techniques such as vacuum sintering and Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS), achieving exceptional optical transparency of up to 70%.
As part of his doctoral journey, Dr. Tripathi was a visiting researcher at the Department of Physics, University of Seville, Spain, where he contributed to the development of porous alumina structures using cutting-edge Ultra-fast High Temperature Sintering (UHS) technology. His interdisciplinary work combined materials processing innovation with a deep understanding of microstructure–property relationships in functional ceramics.
Dr. Tripathi has published over ten peer-reviewed articles and has actively presented his work at numerous national and international conferences.
We are excited to have Dr. Tripathi on board and look forward to the valuable contributions he will bring to the VILA department and the broader FunGlass research community.
