Kick-off Meeting of the BONEGEL Project

The inaugural meeting of the APVV Project (VV-MVP-24-0409) titled “Next-Generation Biofabrication: Mesoporous Bioactive Glass Nanoparticles and Extracellular Vesicles Containing 3D Printed Scaffolds” (BONEGEL) was held on April 8, 2025, at Comenius University in Bratislava. The event was hosted by Assoc. Prof. Andrea Šoltýsová.

This preparatory meeting focused on planning the initial phases of the project, coordinating ongoing research activities, and discussing the logistics of sample exchange and measurement procedures. The BONEGEL project aims to develop 3D-printed organic/inorganic composite hydrogel scaffolds for bone tissue regeneration applications.

The project is a collaborative effort between the Biomaterials Department at the FunGlass Centre, Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín (TNUNI), and the Department of Molecular Biology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava (FNS CU). Representatives from FunGlass included Dr.-Ing. Fatih Kurtuldu (Principal Investigator), Mgr. Martina Vitázková, and Dr. Martin Michálek (Head of the Biomaterials Department).

During the meeting, potential areas for collaboration were explored, and key topics related to the project were identified and discussed.
