Shubham Gupta

Shubham Gupta earned his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), India, in 2020 and his M.Sc. in Physics from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, India, in 2022. His master’s project, supervised by Prof. H. D. Shashikala, focused on optimizing the processing parameters of CeO₂-doped barium borate glass using the Taguchi Design of Experiments (DOE). He also worked on the photoluminescence behaviour of rare-earth-doped barium borate glasses for white LED and the synthesis and characterization of oxide bioactive glasses. Before joining FunGlass, he worked as a High School Physics teacher at Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Mangalore, India.

Since October 2023, he has been pursuing his Ph.D. at the FunGlass Centre. His current research focuses on near-zero thermal quenching phosphors for near-ultraviolet (NUV)-converted white LEDs and upconversion phosphor-in-glass composites for white LED and optical fiber applications.
