Mahsa Takht Kiyani

Mahsa holds a master’s degree in materials science and engineering form Amirkabir university of Technology, Tehran, Iran. Where she is well trained in coating technology, wear behavior of materials (erosion & abrasion), investigation of the mechanical and physical properties of materials, and methods of qualitative and quantitative characterization of materials using HTXRD & XRD, FE- SEM, TEM, Nano-indentation, etc.

During her research journey, Mahsa has had close collaboration with well-known factories like Iran Tractor manufacturing Co. and the knowledge-based ASAPCO company as a R&D expert to improve the lifetime of the metals and materials by employing various coating & welding technologies and surface hardening techniques. Her academic and industrial research journey provided her with knowledge of welding technology, solid particle erosion mechanisms, surface hardening techniques, AM technology, and Rietveld refinement method.

Mahsa strongly believes that nowadays, it’s tough to imagine a life like it used to be in old times due to the massive improvements in the materials science and engineering fields. Furthermore, Emerging novel aspects of science and technology especially in ceramics, glass and silicate materials, thin film & coating technologies in the past few years led to a scientific revolution in the world. Therefore, she eagerly pursues her Ph.D. Degree in the field of Chemical Engineering and Technologies – Inorganic technologies and non-metallic materials.

In her Ph.D. project she is working on Enhancing Mechanical and Chemical Durability of the Silicon Oxide (SiOx) Coatings using Hollow Cathode Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (HC- PECVD).
