Fatemeh Borzooei

My journey in Materials Science and Engineering started with a BSc degree, during which I focused on learning the fundamental principles of materials while gradually nurturing my interest in my preferred field. Following this, I continued my academic path with an MSc degree at Shiraz University, specializing in corrosion and protection of materials. In this context, I conducted my master’s thesis on metal matrix composite coatings using the electrodeposition technique, with an emphasis on materials characterization and performance evaluation.

Through this work, I expanded my knowledge in materials synthesis, mechanical properties, and corrosion analysis of nanocomposite coatings reinforced with ceramic nanoparticles, explored as an environmentally friendly alternative to chromium-based coatings in industrial applications. In parallel with extensive experimental work, I collaborated with researchers and supervisors in preparing and publishing scientific articles, which strengthened my teamwork, scientific communication, and collaborative research skills. I was also engaged as a teaching assistant in courses related to my field, further enhancing my communication skills and academic mindset.

Currently, I am pursuing a PhD to both expand my international experience through collaboration and communication with experts across Europe and to further develop my expertise in coating technology, with a focus on advancing thermal barrier coatings through modern materials design, including high-entropy ceramics for gas turbine engine applications.
