Prof. Galusek and dr. Galuskova participated at the 13th Pacific Rim Conference (LINK: http://www.ceramic.or.jp/pacrim13/), organised by the Ceramic Society of Japan, in Naha, at the Japanese island Okinawa. The major world event hosted more than 1 500 participants who presented their lectures in 16 parallel sessions. Prof. Galusek presented two lectures. The lecture „Transition metals doped optically active transparent MgAl2O4 ceramics“ was presented in the session Crystalline and Amorphous Transparent Optical Materials and Photonic Technologies, and the lecture „Y3Al5O12-α-Al2O3 composites with eutectic composition and fine-grained microstructure „ was presented in the session Advanced Structural Ceramics for Extreme Environments. Dr. Galusková presented a lecture „Assessment of kinetic performance for early stage of immersion in SB fluid for silicon nitride based ceramic“ in the session Bioceramics and Bioinspired Materials.
