New research topic “Functional One-Dimensional Nanomaterials for Energy and Environmental Applications” of the open-access journal Frontiers in Chemistry

(submission deadline is *25 August 2022*)

Our researchers Dr. Surjyakanta Rana and Dr. Orhan Sisman are serving as Topic Editors with Dr. Necmettin Kilinc for the Research Topic entitled “Functional One-Dimensional Nanomaterials for Energy and Environmental Applications” under the Catalytic Reactions and Chemistry sub-section of the open-access journal Frontiers in Chemistry (IF: 5.221).

The aim of the Research Topic is to cover present and future trends in smart solutions with novel, promising functional 1D nanomaterials for energy and environmental applications. The functional 1D nanomaterials include but not limited to nanowires, nanorods, nanotubes, nanofibers with compositions based on oxides, nitrides, metals, polymers, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and their heterostructures like composites, core-shells, loaded or doped nanostructures and others.

Areas to be covered in this Research Topic may include, but are not limited to:
• Synthesis and characterization of 1D functional nanomaterials, nano-heterostructures, core-shells and composites for catalytic H2 production
• Organic-inorganic hybrid 1D nanomaterials for energy saving applications
• Synthesis and characterization of 1D MOFs membranes and filters for wastewater treatment
• 1D semiconducting nanomaterials-based gas sensors

Articles in the forms of Original Research, Review, Mini-review and Perspective are welcome.

They are pleased to invite researchers to contribute with their novel studies on synthesis, characterization, smart energy and environmental applications of one-dimensional functional materials.
