FunGlass researcher in CEITEC, Brno

Dr. Omid Sharifahmadian (member of the Ceglass project / ITMS code 313011R453) has started his 3-months training in CEITEC – Central European Institute of Technology, Brno (Czech Republic).

His research will mainly focus on the deposition and characterization of the novel smart diamond-like carbon (DLC) film on the glass substrate. These films will be deposited by Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) technique. This is a versatile technology that is suitable for integration in an in-line process that can apply coatings without altering the substrate’s bulk material properties.

The CEITEC Nano Research Infrastructure is the Czech Republic’s largest cleanroom nano-Centre providing complex equipment, expertise and methods for nanotechnology and advanced materials R&D. The CEITEC Nano facilities for nanofabrication, nano characterization, structural analysis and X-ray tomography enable to carry out complete fabrication of nanostructures and nanodevices and their characterization down to the sub-nanometer level in an entirely clean environment.
