Miroslava Hujová has returned to Slovakia after eight years spent in Czech Republic and in United States of America to join the Department of Glass Processing at the Funglass Centre. She received her PhD in the field of Inorganic Non-Metallic Materials at University of Chemistry and Technology Prague (UCT Prague), the topic of hers PhD thesis was „Analysis of batch-to-glass conversion process“ .
Dr. Hujová has previously focused on the vitrification of nuclear waste and her past research was conducted in cooperation with Pacific Northwest National Laboratories, Richland, WA, USA. Prior her doctoral thesis, she has performed studies focused on glass corrosion kinetics, sol-gel methods and development of novel LED luminophores. Dr Hujova aims to apply her experience in the field of waste vitrification and upcycling and starting the waste management cooperation between scientific institutions and industry partners in the Central Europe.
