Congratulations to Avnee Chauhan on Receiving Grants for Research Collaboration with Fraunhofer IKTS, Germany

It is with great pleasure that we extend our heartfelt congratulations to our Ph.D. student, Avnee Chauhan, on being awarded the JECS Trust grant from June to August 2023 and the Erasmus Plus fund from December 2023 to February 2024 for her research collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems (IKTS) in Germany.”

Avnee’s mobility project, titled ‘Experimental Study of Multicomponent Rare-Earth Oxides for Optical Applications,’ was conducted in partnership with Fraunhofer IKTS. This project aimed to explore and develop novel high-entropy ceramics for white light applications using various synthesis and sintering techniques.

During her tenure at Fraunhofer IKTS, she immersed herself in the captivating realm of high-entropy oxide ceramics, acquiring invaluable insights and expertise in their processing. The training encompassed a comprehensive exploration of advanced techniques, with a particular emphasis on Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS). Through hands-on experience and dedicated mentorship, Avnee improved her skills and gained an in-depth understanding of this cutting-edge field.

Under the expert guidance of Prof. Dušan Galusek from our home institute, Fun Glass, and the esteemed collaboration with Dr. Sabina Begand and Ing. Frickel Andreas from Fraunhofer IKTS, Avnee’s project promises to make significant improvements in the field of ceramics research.

We extend our warmest congratulations on this remarkable achievement and wish her continued success in her academic and professional pursuits.
