Internship of Ilya Sokolov (CEITEC, Brno) at FunGlass Centre

Ing. Ilya Sokolov has graduated his master’s degree in materials science, production and treatment of materials with special properties at the Faculty of mechanical engineering and technologies at Novosibirsk State Technical University, Novosibirsk (Russia). Right now he is the 3rd year PhD student at CEITEC BUT, Brno (Czech Republic) and his research focused on advanced ceramic materials and composites with multifunctional properties.

In the frames of JECS Trust mobility Ing. Ilya Sokolov (CEITEC, Brno, Czech Republic) had 3 month internship at Funglass Centre. The main goal of this internship was to combine CEITEC and FunGlass experiences and laboratory devices for complex study of the influence of preparation techniques on final optical properties of transparent luminescent polycrystalline YAG. Under the expert supervision of Ing. Monika Michálková, PhD. preparation of YAG nano-powders, optimisation of deagglomeration process and preparation of green bodies were carried out.
