Dr. Zulema Vargas

Scientific background: 

Dr. Vargas received her Doctor degree in Materials Science and Engineering from National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In recent years, she has been engaged in the field of nanomaterials, designing and developing novel multifunctional nanoplatforms for biomedical applications such as theranostic devices, drug delivery systems, contrast agents for MRI, labels for cell tracking applications, scaffolds for bone tissue regeneration, etc. In 2017, she was granted with the distinction “Level 1 Researcher (SNI1)” by the National System of Researchers of the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACyT, Mexico). Since February 2019, she is joined to the Department of Biomaterials at FunGlass Centre.
