Fulden Dogrul, MSc

In 2015, I graduated from the University of Sakarya (Turkey) with bachelor of science degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Following my first degree, I remained at the same university to earn my master degree. Through my years of master studying, I had been worked as an assistant in a project supported by TUBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey). The project that is also my master thesis, based on synthesis of BN(h) advanced ceramic powders via Dynamic Carbothermal Reduction and Nitridation (DCRN).

Last year of my master education, in order to gain more experience, I applied for internship in the framework of an Erasmus+ program to the University of Padova under supervision of Prof. Enrico Bernardo. I had worked in the laboratory of Advanced Ceramic and Glasses group (Department of Industrial Engineering, at the University of Padova, Italy), for 10 months.  Obtaining homogeneous foaming with simpler system, starting from alkaline activation of the vitrified bottom ash, had helped me to get accustomed to the production and characterization method before SiAlON production started.  By stabilizing of reaction parameters, the production of SiAlON by the alkali activation of metakaolin, carbon and alumina was succeed using CRN method which I have already used in my master studies. After proving that SiAlON production was performed with alkali activation method, samples were successfully obtained using the 3D printing technology with the prepared suspensions.

After my internship in Padova University, I applied to PhD program in FunGlass Enstitue (Centre for Functional and Surface Functionalized Glass) in Slovakia.
