Lectures and trainings on electrochemical measurements with dr. Viscor

This is to inform you that Prof. Petr Viscor, the recognized expert in the area of Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), will be visiting FunGlass again from February 10th to February21th, 2020.

During his visit he will deliver a couple of lectures on the basics of EIS and will be also available for consultations.

Everyone is invited. Participation in lectures is mandatory for PhD students.

EIS lecture 1:

Date: February 13th (Thursday )

Time: 9.00 to 12.00 a.m.

1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (practicals)

EIS lecture 2:

Date: February 18th (Tuesday )

Time: 9:00 to 12:00 a.m.

1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (practicals)

 Consultations: By an agreement

In this double lecture on Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), the emphasis will be on simple, empirical approach to this experimental technique. This time some elements of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy will be also included.

First, some necessary elements of the theory behind EIS experimental method will be presented, explained and discussed.

Second, some practical aspects of the EIS experiment will be discussed, with focus on various EIS raw data representations and EIS data error analysis

Third, the analysis of the EIS experimental data will be discussed in terms of simple, linear R,C,L equivalent electrical networks modelling. Here, the focus will be on a clear connection between the topology and various R,C,L values of the model networks and  the corresponding physical processes taking place in the material under investigation.

Fourth, some elements of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy will be presented and discussed.

The two lectures will be supplemented by practical work in the EIS laboratory on some specific experiments, directly related to Electrochemical Impedance measurements.
